Amazo (played by Pat McMahon) was the show's resident magician—though his tricks almost never worked! Introduced in the early 1970s, Amazo sported a mystical-looking turban and flowing robe, giving him all the appearance of a master illusionist... until he tried to perform.

Whether it was pulling rabbits out of invisible hats or making props disappear in the wrong direction, Amazo’s magic always backfired, much to the delight of the audience. His hilarious failures became the real magic, delivering laughs instead of illusions every time he appeared.

Amazo remained a beloved part of the show for over a decade, proving that sometimes the best trick is simply making people smile.
