Aunt Maud

Aunt Maud, played by Pat McMahon, was the crotchety, sharp-tongued resident of mythical Senior City. One of the show’s earliest and most beloved characters, Aunt Maud entertained (and sometimes horrified) audiences by reading her twisted “children’s stories” — dark tales that always ended badly for everyone involved.

Early on, Aunt Maud was also the show's resident celebrity gossip, even penning a column in the local TeeVee Magazine. Later, she became famous for her hilarious infatuation with Phoenix Police Officer Harry Florian, swooning over his “steely-grey, Barry Goldwater hair.”

Aunt Maud predated many of the other iconic characters like Gerald, Boffo, Captain Super, and Marshall Good, and remained a fan favorite for her grumpy charm and wickedly funny storytelling.
