Captain Super

Captain Super, played by Pat McMahon, was the show's ultra-conservative "hero" — more bluster than bravery. Dressed in a series of evolving costumes over the years, Supe (as Ladmo called him) couldn’t even punch his way out of a giant paper bag — a fact the show gleefully demonstrated more than once!

Summoned by Wallace with a magic wand and the secret word “Justice!”, Captain Super would dramatically leap into view, accompanied by the roar of a jet plane. He was always ready to "protect Arizona children from communists," despite his feats of strength often being hilariously unimpressive — like struggling to rip an Ajo phone book (from a tiny Arizona town) in half.

Captain Super’s personal life was just as absurd: he proudly kept his mother, "Mom Super," locked in a trailer in his backyard, occasionally giving her the key "a couple of times a year."

Through all the antics, Captain Super never wavered from his message to “all the little duffers out there”:
"I’m the greatest human being who ever lived. Now bye-bye, and bless you!"
